I was able to complete this EDGE project with my wife. The goal of the project was to make these surgical dolls and donate them to Primary Children's Hospital. These dolls are meant to be beneficial for the children that are undergoing some sort of procedure, to allow them to understand what that specific procedure is. By providing the children with dolls, we hope that they would feel more comfortable and have a better time in the hospital.  

 

We were able to make dolls from four different colors of fabric to represent different skin tones. That way the kids would feel closer to the doll because it would be even more like them. Along with the dolls we had gowns that were made from different fabrics that had different designs on them. 

 

The dolls were also beneficial to the hospital staff because they were able to use them to educate the children so they could understand. The staff would be able to use markers and draw on them to show the children where incisions would be made and after kids would be able to draw on them as much s htey would want.
